In today’s blog post, I’ll be expanding on the Entertainment District neighbourhood, the perks and amenities in the area and why it is a great place to invest and live in 2020!

Toronto’s Entertainment District is well-known for its amazing fashion, fine restaurants, glitzy nightlife, and most of all, its unbeatable entertainment. Walking distance from the Rogers Centre and the CN tower, the Entertainment District is in the centre of the City of Toronto. The Entertainment District is right in the middle of the Financial District, South Financial District, Tech District and the Fashion District.

Let’s get on the topic of tech talent in the City of Toronto. Toronto now ranks #3 in North America for tech talent, trailing behind San Fransisco and Seattle. Tons of tech companies and startups are setting up shop in Toronto and we’ve seen unbelievable growth in our tech industry. Just in the past 5 years, 80,000 jobs were added in tech related businesses. On the topic of the Entertainment District, it is right in the middle of the City meaning tons of tech companies are employing right around the corner including Sales Force, Cisco, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Apple, Yahoo, Oracle, Shopify, Bell, WeWork, Dell, and many more.

The Entertainment District is also home to Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). TIFF is one of the largest publicly attended film festivals in the world, attracting over 480,000 people per year. Year-round, the TIFF Bell Lightbox offers screenings, lectures, discussions, festivals, workshops, industry support, and the chance to meet filmmakers from Canada and around the world. TIFF Bell Lightbox is located on the north west corner of King Street and John Street in Toronto’s Entertainment District.

The Entertainment District is also home to some of the best nightlife and restaurants in the city including restaurants like Montecito, Ricarda’s, Byblos, Akira Back, and many more! Check out one of our interviews with Ricarda’s COO, and Montecito’s co-owner below!
